Nintendo's Wii - Innovation Always Rules
The idea and implementation of the Wii is simply incredible. I never got into video games, because thumping buttons on a controller and just sitting there is lackluster to me. The Wii solves this for me and is a great way to both get exercise and have fun playing a game. Being physically active is a large part of my life, and this is a way to connect both exercise and fun. The sports games that come with the Nintendo Wii are cartoony and get kinda old after a while, but they are meant to show users and game developers what can be done with the revolutionary controller. For example, there is a Brunswick bowling game that is more tricky and is way more photorealistic than the bowling game that comes packaged with the Wii. We love Wii! The entire family plays together and it's amusing to watch Grandpa bowling. The kids like that we are all fascinated enough to play right along with them. The tennis is so realistic that I stink at it just like in real life. The greatest part is the kids are up and moving around, interacting instead of just sitting. The graphics are not striking, but that's not what playing the Wii is all about. On a side note, I do have a friend whose son cracked their LCD TV because his hand slipped through the remote strap, he did not have it tightly cinched. I'll quite blabbing on now. Whether you're a casual first-time or hardcore gamer, consider purchasing a Nintendo Wii, if you can find one and be sure you pick up Super Mario Galaxy. It is without a doubt a great game for this console. |
